Stephen Stafford-Bush

Stephen is a Fellow Chartered Accountant as well as a member of the Institute of Directors (Waikato Branch) and a Director of McConnell Stafford-Bush & Associates Limited. He has over 30 years as a Chartered Accountant providing key advice to the rural and business sectors. He has been a Member and Chair of the Rural Advisory Committee of Chartered Accountants ANZ for 17 years so knows intimately the important influences on profitability and helps provide advice around crucial decisions affecting the rural sector at a national level.

In addition to his practice roles, Stephen also has Governance roles with a large farming business, is a Trustee of the Waikato/Hauraki/Coromandel Rural Support Trust and has other Trusteeship and Board Roles. He has a strong belief in the importance of Governance as a key in driving business performance.

He is experienced in business planning, cash flow and profit projections and reporting, business purchase assistance and due diligence, preparation for and assistance with the sale of businesses, profit improvement strategies, business and farm succession planning and well as the usual accounting and taxation issues. Stephen's role is to perform the high-level services clients require and being proactive as well as reactive to client's requests for assistance and advice that is relevant to their needs.

Stephen is passionate about marketing the practices services and attracting new clients. Stephen is proud of the business he has helped to build, which has a prominent place in the South Auckland and Franklin areas.
